Russian metallurgical plant MMK Group announced that production of galvanized pipes reached a record level in 2025, amounting to about 18,000 tons. This is the highest annual output since the start-up of the hot-dip galvanizing unit at Rolling Shop No. 8.
The 2025 result exceeded the previous record of 17,400 tons achieved in 2024 by approximately 3.4 percent.
Galvanizing line Operations and Characteristics product
The automated hot-dip galvanizing line for electric-welded water and gas pipes has been operating continuously since 2001. Coating thickness on the line is adjusted according to production programs and specific customer requirements.
According to the company, hot-dip galvanized pipes with anti-corrosion protection provide durability that is estimated to be two to two and a half times longer than conventional pipes. Their increased resistance to corrosion significantly expands the range of their application, supporting the ever-growing demand.
Digitalization and optimization of processes
During 2025, an intelligent monitoring system for the production of galvanized pipes was also introduced in sheet rolling shop No. 8. The digital solution includes artificial intelligence and machine vision technologies aimed at optimizing operations and improving customer service.
The system is capable of identifying pipes of different diameters and counting finished products with an accuracy of 99.6
